What it is

Universal Annihilation is a new mod that builds on Balanced Annihilation, seeking to improve the gameplay. The current version is RC3, meaning it is a release candidate, getting closer to what we think the first version will be but missing some polish. The point of this release is to get feedback about some of the initial changes and the current direction.

What has changed

  • Merged factions: The arm and core factions have been merged into one, constructors and factories can build units from either side. Where units are duplicates of eachother (i.e. Sentinel and Gaat Gun), one has been removed.
  • Metal Makers: Metal makers no longer require energy to operate, or have an on/off toggle. Instead, they generate a fixed amount of metal constantly, +1/+10 for T1/T2 respectively, and have had their costs adjusted to 300m/3000m.
  • Modified units:
    • Hammer: The Hammer now possesses the same weapon as vehicle artillery.
    • Storm: The Storm now fires two Rocko rockets at once, with the tradeoff of doubled cost.
    • Samson: The Samson now fires at air only, and has had its range boosted from 600 to 765.
    • Slasher: The Slashers weapon has been replaced by the weapon of the Rocko, and line-of-sight has been reduced to 400.
    • Pillager (T2 artillery vehicle): Shots now high trajectory, range increased to 1200.
  • T2 fighters: T2 fighters are now available at the T1 air plant, replacing the T1 fighter. In addition T2 fighter health has been reduced to 100, which means they get killed in 1 shot from almost all anti-air.
  • Nukes and Antis: The nuke silo takes 3 minutes to stockpile and fires an arm nuke, only one missile can be stocked at a time. Antinukes have had their energy cost reduced from 59439 to 30000. Mobile antis have had their health increased to 2000 and take half damage from bombers.
  • Long range plasma cannons: The Bertha was kept over the intimidator, and has had its range reduced from 6200 to 4000. The Vulcan superweapon retains its original range.
  • Storage: Metal and energy storage is no longer tied to your commander, the base storage you start with will be with you the entire game.
  • Fixes and Tweaks: Of course there are many bugs in BA at the moment, and we have certainly begun steps to correct alot of the major present bugs aswell as other bugs many players simply don't see in regular gameplay!
  • Special Effects: Don't forget to check these out! Whilst only in the initial stage of redesign, we feel that with the impending new models the game clearly needs a graphical touchup in the effects department.
